Since mid-April, melting snow and heavy rainfall have caused flooding in multiple municipalities across the province.

In the context of COVID-19, the Canadian Red Cross is adapting its practices to continue responding to emergencies and to support the various levels of government as part of their response to the pandemic.

Red Cross teams are working hard across Quebec to help families and communities affected by major spring flooding.

Tornado in Outaouais area

The Red Cross is assisting those affected by the tornado that hit the Outaouais area on September 21.

Receiving asylum seekers

The Red Cross, in support to the governments of Canada and Quebec, as well as to the agencies mandated to receive asylum seekers, is providing various services according to the needs and the sites identified.

Quebec Spring Floods 2017

The Red Cross responded to meet the urgent needs of flood-impacted communities and continues to work with families that were hit the hardest to support them throughout their recovery.

Syrian Refugee Arrival

Working with various levels of government, the Red Cross in Quebec was instrumental in welcoming Syrian refugees. Volunteers and staff were on hand when refugees arrived in Montreal and in the various hotels where they were temporarily housed. To this day, the Canadian Red Cross continues to provide support for refugees as they settle into their host communities.

Lac-Mégantic Response

Thanks to your generosity, Red Cross volunteers and staff have been helping the people of Lac-Mégantic to recover from the terrible tragedy of July 6, 2013, right from day one.

Magog floods

From the first hours following the Magog floods in September 2013, the Red Cross was on the scene and offering emergency assistance to those affected. The Red Cross extended assistance program also helped the community on its path to recovery.

L'Isle-Verte Response

Red Cross volunteers are still on site in L’Isle-Verte to help those affected by the intense fire that occurred at the Résidence du Havre on the night of January 23.
