The Red Cross, in support to the governments of Canada and Quebec, as well as to the agencies mandated to receive asylum seekers, is providing various services according to the needs and the sites identified.

In Montréal
The Red Cross was mandated by the Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (MWI-IUHSSC) to coordinate part of the accommodation for families and individuals while they are awaiting validation of their status and eventual access to longer-term lodging.
The Red Cross is also distributing emergency supplies (beds, blankets, pillows, and personal hygiene kits) at the various sites determined by government authorities.

In Lacolle
The Canada Border Services Agency has requested the support of the Red Cross to provide services to the asylum seekers who are awaiting at the Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle border crossing. Red Cross services include the distribution of personal hygiene kits, blankets, baby supplies, food, basic health care services, as well as assisting in restoring family links.
