International Humanitarian Law

International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is the body of wartime rules that limit the methods and means of armed conflict. IHL protects civilians and people who are no longer fighting in a conflict. IHL also puts limits on the types of weapons that can be used and bans methods such as torture.
