Face-to-Face Fundraising

Since 2004, our dedicated team of face-to-face fundraisers have been engaging with people in communities across Canada. They raise awareness of our mission and encourage people to show their support for the Canadian Red Cross by becoming a monthly donor. Our monthly donors are an important part of the foundation of the Canadian Red Cross, as their regular donations carry us through some of the most challenging times both at home and abroad.

Why face-to-face fundraising?

Face-to-face fundraising allows us to have meaningful interactions with people across Canada, discussing the importance of our work in Canada and around the world. This is a cost-effective way to acquire new monthly donors for the Canadian Red Cross, and those monthly donations create a sustainable income that allows us to plan strategically so that we can respond quickly during a disaster.

Meet our fundraisers

Our fundraisers are the driving force behind the Canadian Red Cross. Rain or shine, whether on the street, in shopping malls, at businesses, or on your doorstep, they engage in approximately 700,000 in-person conversations each year. By sharing information about our mission and programs and the benefits of becoming a monthly donor, our fundraisers inspire many to join our cause.

Ensuring legitimacy

We want you to be able to know that a fundraiser representing the Canadian Red Cross is legitimate. Fundraisers for the Canadian Red Cross

Wear prominently displayed name tags.
Don vests, coats, or shirts branded with the Canadian Red Cross logo.
Possess in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Red Cross.
Carry materials to educate you about our mission and programs.
Offer the option to set up automated monthly donations using your Credit Card or Direct Debit information.
Will not accept cash donations.
Utilize electronic tablets for collecting information, in some areas.

How the process works

After signing up to become a monthly donor with a fundraiser, you will receive a phone call to verify your details. Once we have your confirmation, your automated monthly donations will begin shortly thereafter. This verification phone call will come from one of the following phone numbers:
