Moderator
Ann Medina
Born and raised in New York City, Ann worked for NBC and ABC News Networks. In Canada, she became Senior Foreign Correspondent for CBC's The Journal, including its Beirut Bureau Chief. Her topical documentaries aired regularly on BBC and PBS. She also moderated three Federal Election Debates. While covering wars and disasters, she witnessed the work of the Red Cross. Ann has been a member of the Canadian Red Cross Tiffany Circle for the past few years. She has been a passionate volunteer helping to moderate several different conversations with Red Crossers.
Ann is Past Chair of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television and has served on numerous boards including the International Women's Forum where she also chaired its Presidents' Council. She has received the YWCA 'Woman of Distinction' award and, in 2010, was included in the 'Top 100 Most Powerful Women'. She has won an Emmy and has received five honorary degrees including one from the University of Toronto.
Canadian Red Cross Delegate

Lynn Henderson is a Registered Nurse from Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. She currently works for the Annapolis Valley VON and is a Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Unit (ERU) medical aid worker.
On her first deployment with the ERU in 2013, Lynn travelled to Jordan to work at a refugee camp. Following the 2015 Nepal earthquake, Lynn was deployed and originally stationed at a clinic in Khokundole where she helped deliver the first baby born during the response. Most recently, Lynn deployed with the Canadian Red Cross’ mobile Clinic ERU in November 2017. Working with the displaced Rakhine population from Myanmar within the Kutupalong Camp in neighbouring Bangladesh, Lynn managed the Sexual and Reproductive Health needs for the clinic, supporting family planning and safe birth practices for families.

Lydia is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Stewart McKelvey, being the first woman to lead a major Atlantic Canadian law firm (approximately 220 lawyers). Prior to being named CEO and Managing Partner, Lydia was a partner in Stewart McKelvey’s corporate group and held a number of leadership roles.
In addition to sitting on the board of the Waterfront Development Corporation Limited, Lydia is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation. She also serves as a director on the boards of two privately held companies. Her prior community involvement focused on child and youth initiatives. In the fall of 2009 The Progress Club recognized Lydia with a "Women of Excellence" Award. Lydia was named one of the top leading women lawyers in Canada receiving a LEXPERT "Zenith Award" in September, 2013.

Dale Godsoe, C.M., recipient of the 2016 Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Award, is a dedicated community leader, educator, mentor and philanthropist with a deep commitment to the advancement of women and women’s issues. With decades of experience serving on numerous boards and successful fundraising campaigns, she continues to play a vital leadership role in our community with organizations such as King’s University, Symphony Nova Scotia, Waterfront Development, the QEII Foundation and the City of Halifax, in her role as fundraiser, visionary and change-maker.

Jo-Anne Ryan joined TD Wealth in 2003. Jo-Anne leads the Philanthropic Advisory Services team within Wealth Advisory Services. She is the Executive Director and architect of the Private Giving Foundation (PGF), the first donor-advised fund program launched by a financial institution in Canada that provides a structure to leave a lasting legacy in a simple and effective manner. Jo-Anne develops strategies to help clients incorporate philanthropy in their overall financial and estate planning.
Jo-Anne is a past member of the executive of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners GTA (CAGP) and is currently a member of the government relations committee which lobbies the department of finance to improve tax incentives related to charitable giving. Jo-Anne is also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Toronto, and is an active volunteer on several gift planning committees for charities. In addition, she is a recipient of the “Friend of CAGP Award” in 2002 which was awarded to her for her significant contribution to gift planning in Canada. She is also a member of the Board and audit committee for Bishops University Foundation and is a member of the advisory board for the first Masters in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership program at Carleton University, launched in the summer of 2013.
