Health Equipment Donations
Do you have used health equipment that may help someone in your community?
Thank you for your interest in donating equipment to the Red Cross. The HELP program currently accepts equipment donations at designated offices in the following provinces:
- Alberta
- British Columbia Click here to see equipment accepted
- Nova Scotia
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- New Brunswick
- Prince Edward Island
- Yukon
Please be aware that we can only accept donations of items that we are able to loan. These are items that are easily recycled and cost effective to include in a loan program.
We are in need of the following types of items:
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers, crutches, canes
- Bath seats and benches
- Commodes and toilet seats
- Other durable medical equipment
Due to program limitations and /or government regulation, we cannot accept the following items:
- Linens
- Bandages
- Urinary and incontinence supplies
- Drugs
- Furniture
- Beds other than home-use hospital beds, which may be accepted in BC and Nova Scotia only
Equipment donations may be dropped off at our Health Equipment loan locations. Due to space limitations, please phone ahead to ensure we can accept the item(s) at that location.
Tax receipts
Gift-in-kind tax receipts (based on current assessed value) are available for donated equipment.
If you would like a receipt, please make this clear at the time you make your donation. Our volunteer or staff person will take down your name, address and phone number.
- Please allow up to 3 months for delivery of the tax receipt
- If you have not received your tax receipt after 3 months please email HELP@redcross.ca
- Please provide the following information in your email:
- the location where the equipment was donated
- the date it was donated
- and the equipment you donated
