Canadians were shocked and saddened by the tragic events that unfolded in the overnight hours of April 18-19, 2020, in Nova Scotia, with one individual deemed responsible for the deaths of 22 other people in the rural communities of Portapique, Wentworth, Debert, Shubenacadie and Milford.
The Canadian Red Cross was among emergency management partners working closely with the Government of Nova Scotia and law enforcement in response to the tragedy from its earliest hours.
The outpouring of support and sympathy from across Canada includes a desire to help in some way. We have established the Stronger Together Nova Scotia Fund to help meet immediate and longer-term needs of the families and communities devastated by this event.
Your donation gives us the flexibility to assist with recovery and resiliency in the most effective way through consultation with affected families, individuals and communities.
