On the evening of Friday, September 21, devastating tornadoes touched down in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
Powerful winds tore roofs off buildings, shattered windows, uprooted trees and downed power lines. In the immediate aftermath, hundreds of thousands of homes were left without electricity.
In coordination with local officials, the Canadian Red Cross has mobilized its disaster teams in Gatineau and Ottawa to register impacted people and help provide shelter, relief and comfort.
