Red Cross kicks off annual Day of Pink campaign

The next Canadian Red Cross Day of Pink, presented by RBC Royal Bank, will be held on April 8, 2015 in Manitoba and schools and workplaces are invited to sign up now to stand for respect and be a part of this exciting event.
 
This is the fourth annual Red Cross Day of Pink to be held in Manitoba and it will bring together students from more than 300 schools, along with numerous workplaces, to celebrate healthy relationships and working towards putting a stop to bullying.
 
“We are excited to once again host Day of Pink, as it is a wonderful opportunity for schools, workplaces and communities throughout Manitoba to come together and think about bullying and what they can do to ensure our communities are safe and respectful,” said Rebecca Ulrich, Red Cross education manager for Manitoba and Nunavut.
 
Schools, workplaces and communities are invited to register to participate on Red Cross Day of Pink and to vote on the design of the 2015 Day of Pink T-shirt. Until Dec. 5, people can cast their votes on one of three design options.
 
“We are excited about giving students and people of all ages in Manitoba a chance to decide on the design of this year’s Red Cross Day of Pink T-shirt,” said Ulrich.
 
The Red Cross is pleased to once again work with RBC as the presenting sponsor. This is a natural partnership as the mental health of Canada’s youth is a high priority for both organizations.

Canadian Red Cross is a leader in bullying prevention education with its Beyond the Hurt program, which works with schools and students to promote a positive climate and to provide education on how young people can develop healthy and safe relationships.
