Contest Rules and Regulations
No purchase necessary to enter or win. Contest begins on september 1, 2024 at 09:01 a.M. Est and ends on october 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.M. Est. One (1) prize of 250,000 aeroplan points of an approximate value of $3,750 CAD available to win. Odds of winning the prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries. The Canadian Red Cross Contest (the “Contest”) is brought to you by the Canadian Red Cross Society (the “Contest Sponsor”). The Contest starts on Sunday, September 1st, 2024 at 09:01 a.m. EST and closes on Friday October 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST (hereinafter, the “Contest Period”) after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries will be accepted. By participating in this Contest, entrants acknowledge compliance with, and agree to be bound by, these Contest Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”).
Eligibility
To enter and be eligible to win the Contest, entrant must:
- be a Canadian resident;
- having reached the legal age of majority in his/her province or territory of residence prior to the Contest Period; and
- be an active Aeroplan Program (as defined hereinafter) member in good standing during the Contest Period (an “Eligible Participant”).
Enrollment in the Aeroplan Program (“Aeroplan Membership”) is free. Contestants can enroll online at aircanada.com/joinaeroplan.
Employees, representatives, volunteers of the Contest Sponsor and Aeroplan Inc., Air Canada, and their subsidiaries and affiliates, media partners, advertising and promotional agencies, and members of the immediate family (parents, children, siblings, and spouse, regardless of where they are domiciled) of any of the aforementioned, and persons with whom any of the aforementioned are domiciled are not eligible to enter the Contest.
How to enter the Contest
No Purchase Necessary. For greater clarity, the Contest provides a no purchase necessary method of entry. To enter the Contest, Eligible Participants must perform any of the following actions:
Make donation(s) of one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD$ 100.00) or more on www.redcross.ca/rewards (the “Contest Campaign Page”), during the Contest Period. Donations made online on pages other than the Contest Campaign Page are not eligible for entry.
For no purchase entry, go to www.redcross.ca/rewards/no-purchase-entry, fill in the Contest form with all requested information, including without limitation, your name, address, email, phone number, and Aeroplan account number, and submit form by clicking on the Submit button during the Contest Period.

Each Eligible Entry gets each Eligible Participant one (1) entry to the Contest. Limit of one (1) Eligible Entry per Eligible Participant. If it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once, all your entries will be void. There is one (1) prize to be won among all the Eligible Entries received during the Contest Period. No purchase necessary to enter the Contest. The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and local laws.
Contest Draw
A random draw from all Eligible Entries received from Eligible Participants during the Contest Period to select the Prize winner will be held at 9931 106 Street, Edmonton Alberta on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at noon (12:00 p.m.) MST.
Odds of Winning
The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of Eligible Entries received from Eligible Participants, during the Contest Period.
Prize
There is a total of one (1) prize available to be won among all the Eligible Entries received during the Contest Period as follows: one (1) prize of 250,000 Aeroplan Points, approximate value of the prize is three thousand seven hundred and fifty Canadian dollars ($3,750.-- CAD) (the “Prize”).
Aeroplan Points have no cash value but are redeemable under the Aeroplan Program for flights and other rewards. The retail value of rewards obtained using Aeroplan Points will vary depending on a range of factors including the type of reward issued, details of which may be found at https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/aeroplan.html.
The Prize is purchased by the Consent Sponsor, Aeroplan Points will be credited to the Prize winner’s respective Aeroplan account, within approximately two (2) weeks following being declared a winner. Aeroplan Points may be redeemed only in accordance with the general terms & conditions of the Aeroplan Program. The Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be sold, transferred, or converted to cash and will not be refunded for any reason. No substitutions, changes or extensions are permitted. Contest Sponsor reserves the right at its sole and entire discretion to substitute the Prize for another prize of equal or greater value.
Claiming of Prize
In order to be declared the winner and be able to claim the Prize, the Eligible Participant selected by random draw will be contacted by telephone or by e-mail by the Contest Sponsor or one of its agents or representatives, shortly following the draw and must confirm acceptance as a selected Eligible Participant within three (3) calendar days of contact. If the selected Eligible Participant cannot be contacted or does not confirm acceptance within 5 business days the Prize will be considered forfeited and another Eligible Participant will be selected by way of random draw. No credit or reimbursement will be provided if the Prize is not claimed.
No correspondence will be undertaken except with the selected Eligible Participants whose Eligible Entry was drawn.
Proof of identification must be provided upon request.
Before being declared a winner, each selected Eligible Participant will be required to answer a time- limited mathematical skill-testing question and sign a release and waiver form stating, without limitation, that the selected Eligible Participant: (i) complies with the eligibility requirements; (ii) has read and understood the Contest official Rules and complies completely; (iii) accepts the Prize as awarded; (iv) acknowledges the Contest Sponsor’s right to publish his/her picture, name, and city of residence without compensation other than the Prize offered; (v) successfully answered a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question; and (vi) releases and agrees to hold harmless of all liability the Released Parties. “Released Parties” means the Contest Sponsor, its subsidiaries and affiliates, media partners, advertising, promotional agencies and each of the foregoing entities’ directors, officers, employees, contractors, successors, assigns, and agents.
Limitation of Liability
Eligible Participants agree that the Contest Sponsor is not liable for: (i) any incorrect, late, delayed, incomplete, lost or inaccurate transcription of entry information or for any error or malfunction of any kind in connection with the Contest, including any issue in recognizing an eligible action to enter the Contest as an Eligible Entry; (ii) injury or damage to Eligible Participants’ computer or internet connected device or that of any other individual related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Contest or accepting the Prize; (iii) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Eligible Participants’ participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of the Prize; (iv) the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third-party computer hackers or otherwise; or (v) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential winner. If the Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to, without advance notice, terminate or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, or modify or amend these Rules in any way, without any further obligations to Eligible Participants.
Furthermore, if the Contest Sponsor determines, at its sole discretion, that any entry compromises the integrity of the Contest, the Contest Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify the entry at issue or terminate the Contest in its entirety without any further obligations to Eligible Participants.
The Contest Sponsor further reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual from the Contest and to ban the individual from any future contest of the Contest Sponsor who it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; to be acting in violation of the Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
All entries are subject to verification by the Contest Sponsor and may be disqualified if they are received outside of the Contest Period, are incomplete, irregular, lost, stolen, illegible, damaged, misdirected, submitted through illicit means (including but not limited to, robotic, automatic, or programmed means) or if they contain any false statements, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these Rules.
All entries submitted, and all information provided, by Eligible Participants must be complete and accurate. Contest Sponsor will not be held responsible for any technological malfunctions, telephone or internet interruptions, or any late, incomplete, erroneously completed Prize claims or release and waiver forms.
Indemnification
By entering this Contest, Eligible Participants agree to release the Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with the Contest and the Eligible Participants’ participation therein, and indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses in connection with the Contest and the Eligible Participants’ participation therein, or, if declared a winner, the Prize awarded and use thereof. This release and indemnity shall continue in force following the termination of the Contest and/or awarding of the Prize.
By entering the Contest, each Eligible Participant further covenants and agrees to keep harmless and to release from liability Aeroplan, its parent company Air Canada, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, subcontractors and affiliates with respect to any claims or actions, losses, fines or legal costs which arise, directly or indirectly in connection with the Contest and the administration thereof, the Contest Prize and any related activity.
General
By entering the Contest, each Eligible Participant acknowledges and agrees that the Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, nor is associated with Aeroplan, its parent company Air Canada, and each of their respective subsidiaries and affiliates, and that the Canadian Red Cross is fully responsible for the conduct and administration of the Contest, including the selection of winner(s) and the distribution of prizes.
By entering the Contest, Eligible Participants acknowledge and expressly consent to the Contest Sponsor, media partners, advertising and promotional agencies, storing, sharing, and using the personal information submitted with his/her entry only for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with the Contest Sponsor’s Privacy Policy publicly available on Contest Sponsor’s website.
By entering this Contest, Eligible Participants agree the Released Parties will bear no liability whatsoever regarding any use, collection, storage and disclosure of any Eligible Participants’ personal information.
Furthermore, by entering the Contest, Eligible Participants grant to the Contest Sponsor the right to use and publish without compensation the likeness, full name, city of residence, and photograph of the Prize winner and Eligible Participants waive all rights with respect to printed, broadcast and other forms of publicity.
Eligible Participants further agree that all entries submitted and their content become the property of the Contest Sponsor. All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade-names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Contest Sponsor and or its affiliates. All rights are reserved. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Eligible Participants agree that Aeroplan® is a registered trademark of Aeroplan Inc. and ®Air Canada and the Air Canada maple leaf logo are registered trademarks of Air Canada, used under license by Aeroplan Inc. These trademarks are used by The Canadian Red Cross under licensed authorization. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Eligible Participants agree to be bound by all decisions of the Contest Sponsor regarding the Contest which shall be final and binding in all respects.
The Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and local rules and regulations.
For Quebec Residents only: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a Prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules, or the rights and obligations of an Eligible Participant in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
