Alberta Red Cross Personnel Recognized

Seventeen Canadian Red Cross volunteers and staff in Alberta received recognition with Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medals for their humanitarian work.
The Red Cross was honoured by a request from the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, to select and submit award recipients.
The nominations were open to all Red Cross personnel who resided in Alberta, were currently with the organization, and have made meaningful contributions to people and communities in the province over the past five years or more. We want to extend our congratulations to the following recipients:
Daniel Chicoine - Volunteer, Emergency Management; Sylvia Shaigec - Volunteer, Emergency Management; Mahmood Jafari - Volunteer, Health Equipment Loan Program and other areas; Barbara Hudy - Lead, Case Management for the B.C. Flood Operations 2021; Jenn McManus -
former Canadian Red Cross Vice President for Alberta and the Northwest Territories; Guy Day Chief - Senior Manager, Emergency Operations, National team; Joan Chapella - Volunteer, Emergency Management – Finance; Jackie Specken - Change Champion in the Volunteer Transformation Project and other roles; Todd Hillier - Volunteer, Emergency Management; Melissa Fougere - Director of Emergency Management, also Risk Reduction & Resilience, Alberta and N.W.T.; Shelly Longmore - Prevention and Safety, (Member of Canadian Council for First Aid Education); Breanna Palmer - Volunteer, Virtual Operations Team (Friendly Calls); Heidi Pfeiffer - Senior Director, Corporate Communications, National Team; Chris Suessmilch - Volunteer, Emergency Management; Sharon Tees - Volunteer, Volunteer Experience & Engagement, earlier Emergency Management; Carmen Werbowetsky - Senior Manager, Volunteer Experience and Engagement, Alberta and N.W.T.; Jenny Domucmat - Volunteer, Emergency Management.
The medal was awarded to a total of 7,000 Albertans, representing all regions and sectors.
