The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) provides Canadians with short-term loans of health equipment on a donation basis.

As the provincial emergency was declared in Alberta, the Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program is adjusting service delivery. The health and safety of our clients, volunteers and staff continue to be our top priority. In addition, we are assisting our health authority partners to help clients go home from hospital with the health equipment supports they need.

The way we deliver HELP services will look different; however, we remain committed to assisting clients to access medical equipment safely.

Please be advised:

• Clients are asked to also call the service centres to book an appointment for equipment pickup or return drop-offs.
• Please call ahead to be sure the HELP service centres are open for equipment loans.
• In order to maintain social distancing, the doors to the HELP service centres will be locked during regular business hours and closed from noon to 1:00 PM.
• Our teams will maintain the distance of two (2) metres or six (6) feet between themselves and others.
• Masks are required inside all Canadian Red Cross offices and HELP depots in Alberta.
• Consent forms will no longer be signed, rather clients will be asked for verbal consent and confirm their understanding for equipment use.
