Feb 25th 2017 Vancouver Conference: Respecting IHL within the changing face of global conflict

Respecting International Humanitarian Law within the changing face of global conflict

International Humanitarian Law is the same over time but the nature of war in our world is always changing.  Join us as we examine how to apply or “respect” IHL in contemporary conflicts.  Conference sessions include an introduction to international humanitarian law, the challenges of enforcing IHL at the International Criminal Court, the refugee crisis and migration and the targeting of health infrastructure, healthcare workers and aid workers in the context of IHL.  This conference will bring together experts from the fields, including academics, and representatives from the Red Cross Movement, to discuss the issues and their potential solutions.
