Pre-Kindergarten students aimed to sell lemonade for $100 per glass to buy new houses for Fort McMurray Evacuees. 
 
Students at the Shirley Stollery YMCA Child Care Centre, aged 3-5 years, brought questions and ideas into their classroom after speaking with their parents about smoke in the Edmonton sky. 

What do New Brunswick residents Naveed Majid, Earl LeBlanc, and Tamara Brothers have in common? They all took actions that saved lives – and now they are being honoured with Canadian Red Cross Rescuer Awards. 

End of mission is a time of deep reflection and slow adjustment. When I was deployed to Germany as a Canadian Red Cross delegate, my life changed drastically. Working as an interpreter in a German Red Cross transit camp for refugees, I experienced a complete shift in lifestyle. I went from a quiet 9-5 to non-stop 12 hour shifts, welcoming a thousand refugees every night. I adjusted quickly because the rapid pace of response left no room for easing in. When the end of my mission came, I braced myself for another major life change: going back to normal. 

There’s Black Friday, a day to kick off holiday spending, and there’s Cyber Monday, a day for online sales. But did you know about Giving Tuesday? This year, Tuesday, December 1 will mark the start of charitable holiday giving.

Every year, May 8 marks World Red Cross Day to commemorate the more than 150 years of humanitarian actions by the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement around the world.

​Thanks to the generous support of Canadians and the government of Canada, the Red Cross has been making an impact in the fight against the Ebola outbreak. From preparedness and awareness activities to treating people with Ebola at Red Cross-run treatment centres, the response has been tremendous -- and is not yet over.

Did you know the month of March is proclaimed as Red Cross Month? Every year, the Canadian Red Cross observes Red Cross month in March and honours the efforts undertaken by the Red Cross Movement to fulfill the humanitarian mission of the organization as a whole.

It has always been in Tory Dalrymple's nature to give back. On her eighth birthday, she asked her guests to donate to charity instead of bringing a gift. Since then, the 13-year-old from High River, Alberta, has made giving a part of her life. After learning about the Ebola crisis in school, she set her sights on making a donation to the Red Cross.
