When it comes to strokes, every second counts - that’s why it is so important to know the signs, and to act FAST.
The common signs of a stroke include:
Face – facial numbness, drooping, or weakness, especially on one side
Arm – arm numbness or weakness, especially on one side
Speech – slurred or difficulty speaking or understanding
Time – getting immediate care following a stroke is essential. Call 9-1-1 or EMS immediately.
Other symptoms of a stroke may include:
- A sudden and severe headache
- Dizziness and confusion
- Unconsciousness or a temporary loss of consciousness
- Sudden loss of bladder control
