As natural disasters increase in frequency and severity, so does the need for communities and individuals to be prepared. That's why Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from around the world have launched the Disaster Resilience Journal project, sharing photos and stories of communities preparing for disasters with resilience in a changing world.
The Disaster Resilience Journal is an interactive documentary featuring the work of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the world.
Starting September 22, for 42 days, one photo and story of an individual or community’s persistence in living through a disaster will be released each day through social media channels. The journal will provide a daily account of individuals, communities and countries building resilience in a climate of change.
Along with images, the journal is serialized as a set of 42 short articles, released once a day via social media and blogs, and will integrate personal stories collected through social media.
