In this video, the head of operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Africa, Eric Marclay, provides an update on how the Red Cross is responding to the emergency needs of families in South Sudan and explains how recovery will take time.

Over 700,000 people in South Sudan were displaced as a result of conflict over the past few months. While local South Sudan Red Cross volunteers are delivering much needed supplies and providing emergency first aid, the ICRC deployed medical teams, including Canadian Red Cross delegates, to offer urgent care and to treat the wounded.
