Sarah Burke, Canadian Red Cross Director for Violence Prevention, makes her pledge.

In September, the World Health Organization (WHO) and University of Cambridge hosted a Global Violence Reduction Conference  aimed at reducing violence by 50% in the next 30 years. Presentations addressed the ambition of halving violence in three decades and focused on child maltreatment, youth violence, violence against women, and crosscutting issues such as good governance, policing and treating violent offenders.

The Canadian Red Cross is a leader in violence prevention, offering programs and resources for children, youth and adults on violence and abuse prevention in communities across Canada, as well as supporting violence prevention efforts of Red Cross societies around the world, including after disasters.
