Red Crossers work closely with City of Toronto staff at Agincourt Community Centre
Following the recent ice storm that affected most of southern Ontario the Canadian Red Cross was called in to help support shelter operations in Toronto and the GTA. The Red Cross worked closely with the City of Toronto to help address the needs of the affected communities. The Red Cross was also at the table with the City's Emergency Operations Centre to help both teams work as closely as possible.
The Red Cross responds to similar requests for assistance by local governments throughout the country when disasters, large and small, strike. Trained volunteers and resources are available at all times to support people in their community, as needed. It’s all part of the Red Cross mission to help people in need.
