The Canadian Red Cross received some help from our American neighbours during the response to the Alberta floods. American Red Cross workers brought their expertise in the area of mass distribution of supplies to help us successfully provide more than 574,000 relief items including clean-up and first aid kits, water, hygiene items, blankets, etc. to people impacted by flooding in several communities across southern Alberta.
It was something of a favour returned, as dozens of Canadian Red Cross volunteers were deployed to the United States last year after Hurricane Sandy. Read more about this collaboration between American and Canadian Red Cross.
