Video footage inside ERU training

This week, a group of delegates with the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Unit (ERU) took part in a training exercise. CTV was there to capture a portion of the training and interview a few of the participants. It’s a great inside look at how the field hospital comes together and how we prepare for emergencies.

In this first clip, we see the administrative tent which is the hub of the Emergency Response Unit as participants are busy setting up.

Here’s a glimpse into the operating theatre inside the ERU and an interview with Dr. Chris Giannou about the role of medical personnel.

Dr. Alain Parent describes how the field hospital team handles triage.

In this clip, Stephane Michaud describes what it’s like to be deployed with the ERU in a disaster.
