It has been a very powerful week at Red Cross. On April 10th we were joined, in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, by more than 38,000 people and over 300 schools for Red Cross Day of Pink.
We saw pink parades, flash mobs, rallies and so much more; all by everyday people who decided to take a stand against bullying in their communities. On twitter we heard Day of Pink Oaths and saw photos from events and individuals.
At Red Cross everyday is a pink day, standing up to bullying all year round is what we do. It was fantastic to celebrate this day with thousands of others and to encourage everyone, as well as ourselves, to push even harder to make bullying a thing of the past.
Everything we do to stop bullying behaviour can create a big cultural shift and make our communities safer for everyone. So today I make my Day of Pink Oath: I pledge to treat everyone with respect, even if I don't like them or they are different from me.
What is your oath? Tweet us using the hashtag #DayofPinkOath or in the comments below.
