The University of Ottawa Red Cross Club is hosting "Even Wars Have Limits" International Humanitarian Law Film Festival on March 16, 2013. The film festival will showcase a documentary and a film that each demonstrate and raise awareness of IHL.
The documentary "The Greatest Silence" is a 2008 Sundance Film Festival award winning documentary that looks at the use of rape as a weapon of war, specifically during the armed conflict ongoing in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The film "Rebelle" is a Canadian film that was nominated for best foreign language film at the Oscards. It tells the story of a young girl captured in Sub-Saharan Africa to become a child soldier.
The film festival is free, but the club is accepting donations on behalf of the Red Cross Club and Child Advocacy and Rehabilitation initiatives.
