First Aid for Valentine’s Day

So you’ve prepared a memorable evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart, but have you really thought of everything? Even when your horoscope predicts the perfect evening, it only takes a few seconds to transform your romantic evening into a personal disaster.

Planning to propose?

Prepare for the possibility of your sweetheart fainting. If you think your date is about to pass out, ask them to lie down and elevate their legs to increase blood circulation to the brain. Fainting usually only lasts 10 to 15 seconds, but your preparedness could earn you major brownie points. When they regain consciousness, keep them warm and rested. Nothing beats a quiet evening at home! If they don’t come to within one minute, call 911.

1+1=3?

If you are planning on making a major announcement over a romantic dinner, you should prepare for the potential for your partner to choke. If their speechlessness is matched with an inability to breathe or cough, give up to 5 slaps on the back in an attempt to dislodge the object. If these have no effect, start abdominal compressions.
