Photo of the Day: Timmins volunteers learn to teach personal preparedness

Timmins Disaster Management Team

When an emergency or disaster happens, not knowing what to do can be stressful for those affected. Red Cross Disaster Management volunteers in Timmins spent the day learning how to teach Personal Preparedness Workshops on Standard Personal Preparedness as well as workshops for Seniors and Special Needs, Children, and First Nations communities. The workshop helped teach volunteers about health emergencies, preparedness kits for evacuations and first aid, and what to do if you have to "shelter in place" so that they can teach others in their community to "Know your risks, make a plan, and get a kit".
