Every day, we publish a photo to show the Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!
Twenty students from O’Donel High School in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland have created their own Red Cross first response team. They recently completed their standard Canadian Red Cross first aid training and are ready to respond to injuries or medical emergencies in their school, ranging from an allergic reaction to a sports-related injury and even cardiac arrest. They are trained to use their school’s AED and can perform CPR. Of course, their first aid skills can come in handy at any time so they’re helping to make their entire community that much safer.
