Every day, we publish a photo to show the Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!
Several members of the Canadian Red Cross’ national Volunteer Resources team recently had the opportunity to meet the Governor General of Canada, David Johnston in Ottawa as part of National Volunteer Week celebrations.
The Volunteer Resources team plays an important role at the Red Cross by managing our extensive network of volunteers across the country. These Red Crossers participated in a Round Table held at Carleton University on volunteerism and philanthropy where they exchanged ideas with other volunteer resources professionals.
The Governor General welcomed the group, shared his insights into volunteerism in Canada and remained in attendance for the morning-long discussion that focused on a number of volunteer-related issues.
