Photo of the Day: Your donations for Japan have made a big impact

Every day, we publish a photo to show the Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!

The donations of thousands of Canadians have made a big impact on the lives of survivors of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. This is what Sue Phillips, Director General of the Canadian Red Cross, Western Zone, told to mayor donors at a well-attended reception in downtown Vancouver last week. The event was hosted by the local Japanese Consulate General, in cooperation with the Canadian Red Cross, to acknowledge the support of British Columbians to the ongoing relief and reconstruction work in Japan. Similar events to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the earthquake and tsunami were also organized in other Canadian cities.
