Every day, we publish a photo to show Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know.
This past New Year’s Eve was anything but a celebration for residents of an apartment building in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A fire broke out, leaving many scrambling for a place to stay, clothing and other essentials. The Canadian Red Cross registered and helped 57 people, referring many of them to other local agencies and programs for further assistance.
Last week, the company that manages the apartment building affected by the fire showed its gratitude for the support shown to the tenants. Urchin Property Management presented donations of $3000 to the Red Cross and the North Woodside Community Centre.
