"Our volunteers are the heart of our organization."
We have said this a million times, but it is so true. Many Red Cross programs and services are made possible because generous individuals commit their time to help their community.
We wanted to share this news with everyone about several of our volunteers who recently received awards for their hard work and dedication this past year.
Congratulations to the following Red Crossers:
Audrey Wilson in Toronto, who received the Order of the Red Cross, Officer Level 
Jane McGowan, of West Central region, and Kai Tao, of Central Lakes, who both received the Order of the Red Cross, Member Level
Distinguished Service Awards were given to Jane Ann Newson, of Burlington Branch/West Central; Campbell G. Reeves, of Oakville Branch/West Central; Barb Trant, of Eastern Region, Jean Wyatt, of Sault Ste Marie Branch, and George Whebell, of the Lindsay Branch
Another special award – the Marion Gamester Award – was awarded to Sally St. Lewis, of the Ottawa Branch.
