Celebrate Canada Day the Red Cross way

It’s our national holiday. Time to celebrate!

Whether you are going to the beach, the cottage, a camp site, or staying close to home, here are some items us Red Crossers like to have on hand to keep us safe while having fun (plus they are our favourite colour: Red).

Water Bottle – it is important in hot and humid weather to stay hydrated to avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Fill up a bottle full of water before leaving the house, take sips throughout the day, and refill as necessary to stay cool.

Hat – another way to stay cool and also stylish is to wear a hat. The ladies of RedCrossTalks liked this one for Canada Day at the beach

First Aid Kit – always good to have one on-hand in your home, by your pool, or in your car in case of any bumps or scrapes.

Lifejacket – As you may already know, the RedCrossTalks crew loves life jackets. They are a must wear on or around water. Here is a great one to wear while jet-skiing or water-skiing .

Happy Canada Day!
