Ottawa | August 26, 2022
Mobile Health Units will reach people in remote areas as conflict passes 6-month mark
With thanks to the generosity of Canadians, the Canadian Red Cross today announced additional support being provided to help people in Ukraine who have been impacted by the ongoing conflict.
This support includes Mobile Health Units that will travel to remote areas to provide medical services to people requiring care, including those who have been displaced. Four Mobile Health Teams will reach people in remote areas to provide health assessments, medication, treatment for minor injuries, and referrals for additional care. The Mobile Health Units will be staffed by one doctor and two nurses, along with personnel from the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The situation in Ukraine and surrounding countries is evolving daily. The Canadian Red Cross continues to work closely with the Ukrainian Red Cross and other national Red Cross societies to help support immediate and long-term needs in the region.
Quick Facts:
