Our homes, communities, and world are at risk.

In Canada, springtime emergencies—like flooding—are here to stay. But that doesn’t mean we can shift all our resources to domestic crises. Abroad, people continue to be in harm’s way, and we have to find a way to protect everyone. It’s hard complex work. But with you + the Canadian Red Cross + a 3X Donation Match* from Honda Canada Foundation, we can do it.

In 2023, Jean from Gatineau, Quebec had his world turned upside down. The province was struck with a spring ice storm that knocked out power for days. A few short months later, massive flooding made its way into the province. Water levels rose and overflowed the streets.

Families in Canada and around the world count on the Red Cross.

Even when domestic spring emergencies strike, we are still there around the world. That’s the power of humanitarian work—being there for everyone who needs help.

“I truly want to thank the Canadian Red Cross and the Canadian public for the opportunity to make a difference. (...) Because of our collaboration we can support different programs like health, like collective centers, rehabilitation, mental health supports, emergency response, and many many more.”
– Nikita Gorskyi, Canadian Red Cross Program Officer in Cherkasy, Ukraine

The way forward:
You + the Canadian Red Cross + a 3X Donation Match*

With more and more emergencies happening, spring isn’t the only time when we face competing priorities. The good news is that everywhere across Canada, people just like you are coming together to support the Red Cross. And if you donate today, you’ll get a 3X Donation Match* from Honda Canada Foundation.

Wildfires swept through Tantallon, Nova Scotia, a suburb of Halifax, in late May and early June 2023. After supporting thousands who were forced to evacuate with lodging, financial assistance, and relief items, the journey to recovery began. The Canadian Red Cross partnered with Team Rubicon, a non-profit focused on debris removal, ash-out and sifting services, to provide them with a Mobile Emergency Lodging Emergency Response Unit.

Ready to donate to the Red Cross?

Your donation supports an organization that is able to care for people in need, whether they’re in our own communities or halfway across the world. Being unprepared is the risk we can’t afford—will you do your part to help?
