Red Cross responds to wildfires in Nova Scotia

Wildfires are burning in Halifax region and Shelburne County Nova Scotia, forcing people to evacuate from their homes. The Canadian Red Cross is on the ground in support of the provincial and municipal governments. We’re working together with community organizations to provide help to those who have been impacted.

Why the Canadian Red Cross uses direct mail to fundraise

One way we reach these donors and supporters is through the mail. Sending a letter thanking our donors for their past support and asking if they would like to donate again remains an important source of revenue. In some instances, donors also receive a small gift in the mail, such as a pen, or a calendar. These small cost-effective gifts are appreciated by many donors and greatly increase the overall revenue raised.

See your impact in action.

Sign up to receive impact updates from the Canadian Red Cross, inspirational stories from the field and be the first to hear about emergency relief efforts.

The Canadian Red Cross takes your privacy seriously. We do not distribute or sell your email address to anyone. View our privacy policy.
