Young people make up a significant number of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s volunteers. Many are putting their lives at risk every day to help save the lives of others – such as those in Syria, Gaza, Israel, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Libya, Iraq and within many more afflicted communities around the world.

Starting today, International Youth Day, until World Humanitarian Day, August 19, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is calling for the protection of volunteers and humanitarian workers around the world.
