Susan Johnson: Humanitarian, visionary and inspiration

* Guest blog by Canadian Red Cross intern Megan Hope

We’re excited to share with you news about one of our colleagues who has been nominated for a Women of Distinction Award from the YWCA.  Susan Johnson, Director General for International Operations at Canadian Red Cross , has been nominated in the Global Humanitarian category, recognized for her years of effort to improve the lives of vulnerable people around the world.

Susan has worked within the Red Cross movement for over 10 years providing essential services to people affected by conflict or disaster.

In addition to managing the International Red Cross response on several appeals, through her works, she has helped reconnect families and loved ones separated because of war and hospitalization. She has also helped families move into new homes and shelters after devastating disasters.

Good luck and congratulations, Susan!
