Basic training in Psychological First Aid equips young people with the skills and confidence to respond to everyday stressful situations.

The Red Cross Psychological First Aid program is built on the latest evidence-based research on emotional, psychological, and social well-being from the international community, including the World Health Organization (WHO). The program uses an audience-specific, resiliency-building approach to emotional, psychological and social well-being. Participants develop tools and strategies to manage stress and learn how to support themselves and others.

When young people feel supported by their peers and people they trust, they are better able to manage their own stress, and get the support they need.

When you take our Psychological First Aid course, you'll leave with:

1

Practical take-away tools to reinforce and maintain a positive approach when working with others.

2

Strategies to mitigate the effects of stress and improve your resiliency.

3

Your own self-care plan.

4

Confidence in yourself and a sense of empowerment to support others who may be struggling.

Practicing self-care during stressful times helps you stay focused on your emotional and psychological well-being.
