It's now been a little over a month since Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines. As relief efforts continue, humanitarian operations are now moving into early recovery. The following infographic provides a look at how the Red Cross has contributed to providing emergency relief to those affected. The Canadian government is matching donations by individual Canadians for Typhoon Haiyan relief until December 23.

Canadian Red Cross delegate Gwen Eamer shows us the play tent that's been set up on site at the Red Cross field hospital in Ormoc, in the Philippines. Why do they need a place to play? It's all in an effort to help the hospital's numerous young patients and their siblings return to their normal activities and recover after Typhoon Haiyan. The play tent provides them with a safe place to do what kids do best, play and smile!

Marcel McIntyre is often the first to arrive at the Red Cross field hospital in the city of Ormoc, in the Philippines early in the morning and the last to leave at night. The field hospital was set up in in front of the local district hospital, which was damaged by the typhoon.
