The Round-up offers a weekly sample of what our Sister Red Cross Societies are working on around the world.
PAKISTAN: More than three months have passed since Pakistan was hit by some of the worst flooding in its history. Sara Klevmar, a psychosocial delegate working with the Norwegian-Canadian basic health emergency response unit, is writing a diary about her experiences in Pakistan.
Watch a video of the Basic Health Care Centre in Pakistan from Red Cross delegate Kathy Mueller. This centre sees about 180 patients a day, treating malaria, diarrhoea, skin infections, chronic illnesses and scorpion bites.
CAMBODIA: The Water Festival in Cambodia ended in tragedy Monday night when hundreds of people were killed in a stampede.
WORLDWIDE: The ICRC has chosen eight outstanding young people as the winners and runners-up of the “Young Reporter” competition, which was launched in August as part of the International Year of Youth.
