Vice President, Alberta & Northwest Territories
Thu Parmar joined the Canadian Red Cross as Vice President, Alberta and Northwest Territories in 2023. She is responsible for oversight of all Red Cross operations in the province, including implementation of strategic priorities, business transformation, relationship management and financial accountability. Thu brings a wealth of experience with government and the private sector along with several years of active community engagement as a volunteer. A clinical pharmacist, Thu spent the eight years working in the pharmaceutical industry before joining the Red Cross, where she led and managed teams, built and maintained relationships with public, political, and private sector key stakeholders, leveraged strategic insights from those stakeholders to support and drove the implementation of system-wide policy initiatives and advocated for policy changes to improve patient outcomes.
Prior to that, Thu spent eight years with the Alberta Ministry of Health where she had responsibility for the management, operations, and delivery of several of Alberta’s health programs.
Thu’s knowledge and experience will help continue the growth of Red Cross services in Alberta and Northwest Territories. Thu is based in Edmonton.
